Bligh announces LNG ferries for Curtis Island

Hemmant-based Aluminium Boats Australia have been awarded a $21 million contract by the Queensland Government to build 3 ferries to transport LNG workers from Gladstone to Curtis Island.
Queensland Premier Anna Bligh will govern the state from Wednesday to Friday from Gladstone, signalling the industrial cities significance to the state.
Premier Bligh commented on the contract saying that the LNG industry could create 18,000 jobs and more than $A850 million in annual royalties for the state in the next 10 years.
The Queensland Curtis LNG projects has seen $A31 billion in capital expenditure committed thus far.
