Epic, Santos complete gas agreement
Thu, 22 September 2011
Epic Energy has completed a gas transmission agreement with Santos to provide 147 TJ/d of firm capacity on its South West Queensland Pipeline for fifteen years from 2015.
The gas transmission agreement, commonly referred to as ‘Easternhaul’, was first flagged to the market in October 2010 and again in January 2011, but was subject to two conditions:
- A final investment decision on the second LNG train for Santos’ Gladstone LNG (GLNG) Project; and,
- Lender consent.
Both conditions have now been satisfied and the agreement is now unconditional.
The GLNG project includes a 435 km, 910 mm diameter gas transmission pipeline linking a compression station at Santos’ Fairview and Roma coal seam gas fields in the Surat Basin to the liquefaction plant. Gas will also be sourced from the Bowen Basin.
