The operator of the permit, Empire Oil and Gas, has defined five prospects within the Gingin and Gingin West areas, located in EP 389 approximately 80 km out of Perth, with a combined estimated total potential recoverable reserve of 172 – 190 Bcf of gas and over 6 MMbbl of oil and condensate.
The Gingin West and Gingin Gas Field prospects are both located in close proximity to the Dampier to Bunbury Natural Gas Pipeline and the Parmelia Pipeline.
Empire has said that a drilling program will commence at the site in the second half of 2009.
The permit is a joint venture between ERM, Empire Oil and Gas, and Allied Oil and Gas.
