The companies intend to form a joint project team to manage the pre-front-end engineering and design (FEED) and FEED work for the project.

FLEX LNG Chief Executive Officer Philip Fjeld said “FLEX LNG sees the co-operation with SAIPEM as a promising starting point for the two companies to co-operate closely on other FLNG projects.”

An unnamed Asian national oil company will also be involved in the development.

FLEX has previously signed an agreement with Minza Oil and Gas to acquire control of JPDA 06-101A, located in the Timor Sea.
