University of Adelaide’s Innova21 building has achieved a Greenstar energy rating of 6 stars, due to the installation of a trigeneration engine by MWM Energy Australia.
Having successfully been commissioned in 2010, the 350 kilowatt trigeneration TCG 2016 V8 engine has clocked up more than 400 operating hours.
It is the first university building in Australia to achieve a 6 star rating.
The TCG 2016 series has an overall efficiency of over 87 per cent, is highly suited to trigeneration applications and is available in V8, V12 and V16 versions.
This efficiency means that over the life of the engine, operators can save 15 per cent per annum in fuel costs, along with a 50 per cent lower consumption cost due to less lubrication oil required.
