Most recently used to test tools for Chevron’s flagship Gorgon LNG Project off northwest Western Australia, the mock remotely operated vehicle (ROV) has the capability to replicate every function a ROV would carry out in a subsea environment to ensure safety and operational integrity.

The Velocious mock ROV has been designed and can be configured to any industry-standard workclass ROV, including the six most widely used ROVs in subsea construction.

The first unit was the culmination of four months research and development and over $500,000 of investment.

It incorporates hydraulic power and controls, lights, cameras and manipulators, replicating every feature of a subsea ROV.
