The contract is for the construction of the onshore domestic gas pipeline.

The contract is one of a number of new construction and maintenance contracts for Monadelphous, which include a two-year extension to an onshore maintenance and shutdown services contract with ConocoPhillips’ Darwin LNG facility.

All construction contracts are scheduled for completion in the second half of the 2012 calendar year.

The Gorgon LNG Development is based on the installation of a subsea gathering system and pipelines from the Gorgon and Jansz fields to Barrow Island in WA. The Gorgon development is operated by Chevron and is a joint venture of Chevron’s Australian subsidiaries (approximately 47 per cent), ExxonMobil (25 per cent), Shell (25 per cent), Osaka Gas (1.25 per cent), Tokyo Gas (1 per cent) and Chubu Electric Power (0.417 per cent).
