A new uniform licensing framework for the electrical, plumbing, gasfitting and automotive gasfitting occupations in Tasmania, the Occupational Licensing Act 2005, is currently under the final stages of review by Workplace Standards Tasmania.
Three sets of regulations fall under the Act – including the Occupational Licensing (Gasfitting Work) Regulations 2010 – which is anticipated to commence for gasfitters from December 2010.
Workplace Standards Tasmania is now accepting submissions on its draft of the new act.
The period for comment closes on 9 November 2010. For further information see the Workplace Standards Tasmania website.
