State Government approves Arrow’s EIS for Bowen Gas Project

Arrow Energy’s environmental impact statement (EIS) for its Bowen Gas Project in central Queensland has been approved by the State Government, following the recent announcement that front-end engineering and design (FEED) work had commenced on the project, with the Clough AMEC joint venture awarded the $A70 million contract.

Arrow Energy Chief Executive Officer Andrew Faulkner said both decisions were critical milestones in progressing the development of the company’s significant Bowen Basin gas reserves.

The Bowen Gas project involves developing Arrow’s tenements near its existing gas fields with a staged expansion of about 4,000 gas wells and gas infrastructure over 40 years in an 8,000 sq km area, located approximately 150 south-west of Mackay.

The project’s environmental assessment has been progressing since Arrow applied for approval to voluntarily prepare an EIS in April 2012.
