Government funding Gas Acceleration Program

The Australian Government has agreed to provide funds of up to $2 million to Energy World Corporation (EWC) subsidiary Australian Gasfields as part of its Gas Acceleration Program.

The funding will be used to accelerate the recommissioning of the Eromanga and Gilmore gas fields in Queensland, with an aim of providing more gas to the east coast market.

The fields are located in southwest Queensland and were put into care and maintenance in 2001.

They have a total of 877 million m3 of resource with the company’s processing facilities able to produce up to 24 TJ per day when fully utilised.

These facilities are connected to existing gas production wells and broader Queensland gas pipeline infrastructure.
EWC Executive Director Brian Allen said the funding would allow the project to progress much quicker.

“We are grateful for the funding provided by the Australian Government which will cover part of our expected costs, and are now moving forward to re-establish vehicle access to the wells, pipelines and processing plant at Eromanga.

Under the terms of the agreement, there will be an upfront payment of $500,000 followed by a reimbursement of 50 per cent of the amount EWC spends.
