Central Petroleum confirmed that the Palm Valley 13 (PV13) well is drilling ahead and has already found strong gas flows.
First encountered at a depth of 1.8 km, gas flows increased steadily and the well tested at 13.6 million standard cubic feet per day.
Central stated that it did not recover water or oil during the test, only gas.
With this encouraging flow rate tested and confirmed, Central has proceeded with drilling operations and is now focused on reaching the total depth.
The PV13 appraisal well is located within Central’s Operating Licence 3 and is one of the infield wells of the Palm Valley Gas Field within the Amadeus Basin.
The Palm Valley Gas Field does not require hydraulic stimulation, instead producing gas from natural fractures.
