Galilee Energy has commenced drilling operations for the multilateral pilot program at the Glenaras Gas Project.
The program is scheduled to take approximately six weeks and is using the Easternwell Rig 103, which was contracted for the job.
The Glenaras 14L well has been spudded and the surface casing hole has been drilled to a depth of 200 m measured depth, with the rig preparing to run and cement the surface casing.
The well is planned to be drilled to a total depth of approximately 1,530 m measured depth.
Galilee is aiming to have the new lateral wells to be drilled in the program to be on production by early 2019, after which the company anticipates that three months of production draw down will be required in order for material gas production rates to be observed.
The expected cost of the drilling program is approximately $8 million.
Galilee owns and operates the project, located in Queensland’s Galilee Basin, with a 100 per cent interest.
